Day 5 (13 June):
We went to the Sunday Market. It is like Chatuchak in Bangkok, big and full of shops.
We started our journey with a glass of fresh pomegranate juice!
There were lots of shops selling dried fruits...
Take a look at the different things sold there...
After that, we took a cab to the Animal Market.
Skinned animals were hung everywhere in the market...
After the gory sight, we went back to a shop near our hotel to have lunch. A local recommended some really nice food to us! First up is this bowl of meatball noodles (mutton).
And this SUPER NICE Gou1 Nang2!
After lunch, we took a jeep to the desert!
The desert wasn't as nice as we thought...
Sand sculpture of a mermaid..
We seemed to be lost in the desert.. but we were not.
Saw this camouflaged animal..
So we carried on our journey...
And when there's no one to take pictures for you, you must learn to take it yourself!!
I love this picture because CYL and her bag were so BRIGHT! What a great contrast!
Next up will be all the different shots on the sand.
Here's the 4WD available for rental.. we didn't take it though.
Was the camel dead? Nope! It's just taking a nap...
This is the scenery on the way back.
Pay attention to the road lamp... it's matches!!! Lol!
And we had our dinner at this restaurant, Orda. Recommended in guidebook. But not recommended by us. The service was terrible. They basically ignored us. Maybe it's because we looked like students who aren't rich and they look down on us.
When we sat down, yogurts and some cold dishes were served. So we told them we didn't order and they told us it was GIVEN to us. Nonetheless, at the end of the day, we were charged for those items. We ordered a chicken dish but it took forever to come... so we packed it away and ultimately gave it to the hotel staff.
Here's what we had.
Lesson learnt, reiterated: Never listen to guidebook, especially those written by ANG MOHS!
